Case study · Café & sober bar

First version live in 2 days.

Wishi Co. is a brunch café by day and a zero-proof sober bar by night, on Eat Street in Minneapolis. Their domain showed a parked Coming Soon page. The first version of the new site was live 2 days after we started, and it launched on wishico.com on August 6, 2026.

wishico.com · the homepage in its day theme

Wishi Co., the rebrand of 8th Street Nourish, pours matcha and Vietnamese coffee with brunch in the morning and zero-proof mocktails with dinner later on. One site carries both: a day theme and a night theme that follow the visitor's clock, a single list behind about 73 priced items, and 7 local pages built around what the café is known for. When the owner sent new printed menus on September 17, 2026, the new prices went live that day.

Before

Where they started

Wishi Co. is a new name on a café Whittier already knew as 8th Street Nourish. Regulars had to learn the new name. Newcomers needed a reason to come in for morning matcha or an evening mocktail with dinner.

The café already owned wishico.com, but it showed a parked Coming Soon page, so the new name had nowhere to send people. The site had a specific job list, much like the one in our local business website checklist.

What the site had to do

  • Present the café and the sober bar as equals, not a main act and an afterthought
  • Hold a long menu, from matcha to dinner entrées, with prices that change
  • Publish every dish name exactly the way the owner writes it
  • Get someone who wants food now to ordering in one tap
  • Show up when people search for a drink, a dish or a street, beyond the café's own name

The work

What we built, and why

  1. 01

Day and night themes on the visitor's clock

The site loads in a light cream-and-green palette in the morning and a deep green one in the evening, based on the time on the visitor's own device. A toggle in the header lets anyone switch by hand. Touches like this are why we custom-code our sites rather than build them in a page builder.

  2. 02

    One list behind the menu

About 73 priced items live in a single list. The full menu page and the house favorites on the homepage both read from it, so the favorites can't quietly disagree with the menu after a price change.

  3. 03

    Dish names as printed

Every name goes up exactly as it appears on the café's printed menus, accents and spellings included. It's their menu, and we publish it the way they wrote it.

  4. 04

    Order Online, one tap away

An Order Online button in the header opens the café's DoorDash store, and on phones a Call and Order Online bar stays at the bottom of the screen.

  5. 05

Seven local pages, one topic each

Sober bar, matcha, Vietnamese coffee, matcha French toast, brunch on Eat Street, bò né, and a café in Whittier. Each page is written around one thing people search for, using the café's real menu and a short FAQ. In the code, each one is labeled so search engines can pick out its dishes and prices, its questions and answers, and where it sits in the site. That's the local SEO half of the build.

  6. 06

    Spelled out for search engines

Across the site, the code tells search engines this is a café, with its address, hours, cuisine and menu, so they don't have to guess what Wishi Co. is or when it's open.

  7. 07

A gallery with a proper photo viewer

The café's own photos of dishes, drinks and the room each open full screen in a viewer you can use with a keyboard as easily as a tap.

  8. 08

    Press, credited to the café

An “As featured in” strip links to Mpls.St.Paul Magazine's “First Bite: Wishi Co. on Eat Street” from August 2026. The coverage is about the café and its food; the strip just makes sure visitors find it.

Live now

What’s running on wishico.com

  • The new name has a home

wishico.com has carried the café's site since August 6, 2026, where a parked page used to be.

  • Both halves of the business on equal footing

The theme follows the clock, and the homepage and menu give the café and the sober bar the same billing, from the matcha list to the mocktails. It's the balance we'd aim for on any restaurant or café site.

  • The September menu, live the day it arrived

New printed menus came in on September 17, 2026, and the new prices were live that day. Menu and hours changes count as content edits on the café's care plan.

  • Seven pages for seven searches

The local pages went live five days after launch, each with real menu items and structured data, aimed at people in Minneapolis who already know what they're craving.

  • Ordering without a detour

Order Online reaches the café's DoorDash store in one tap, from the header or the bar at the bottom of a phone screen. If your café needs the same, start with a free preview of your homepage.
