Case study · Coffeehouse & roastery

A quote call, then a yes. Live on its own domain.

Riverview Coffee is a coffeehouse and roastery on East Main Street in downtown Belle Plaine, with beans roasted on site. The owners saw a preview of their site on October 15, 2026 and asked us for a quote. We talked on October 20, and they said yes a week later. On November 2, the site went live on riverviewcoffee.com.

Riverview Coffee sits on East Main Street in downtown Belle Plaine: beans roasted on site, espresso drinks and baked goods, a room with long tables, four-tops, counter seats and a couch under a pressed-tin ceiling, and something on the calendar most weeks. Customers on Google rate it 4.7 stars across more than 100 reviews. The owners saw a preview of the site on October 15, 2026 and asked us for a quote that day, and we talked it through on October 20. They said yes on October 27. On Monday, November 2, the site went live on riverviewcoffee.com, and the launch check passed all 19 of its points. The same afternoon, the owner asked for her otter, Toffy, in the header, and it was there that day.

Before

Where they started

Riverview is the kind of place a town builds habits around. Its Google reviews talk about the comfy vibe, a good selection of big and small tables for every crowd, the breakfast sandwiches and the baked goods. Beans are roasted in the shop, bags of the roast sit on the merch wall, and there's a pop-up, live music, a Paint & Sip or a craft maker on the calendar most weeks.

What the café needed was a home on the web that said all of that in its own words. Before November 2, 2026, riverviewcoffee.com wasn't serving a website of the café's own. A link to your own site is one of the first things our Google Business Profile checklist asks for, because it's where the hours, the room and the roasting can live in one place.

What the site had to do

  • Say what Riverview is in one line: roasted here, poured here
  • Show the room, the counter and the merch wall, so a first visit isn't a surprise
  • Put the hours, the address and the phone one tap away, with an open-or-closed line
  • Give the roasting, the drinks, the events and the merch each a page of its own
  • Point to the Facebook page for the events calendar, because that's where it lives

The work

What we built, and why

  1. 01

    Roasted here. Poured here.

The homepage opens on a photo of the room: the pressed-tin ceiling, the brass lights, the counter at the back. The headline says what the shop does, and the Riverview label sits across the edge of the photo. Three short points follow: beans roasted on site, a room for every crowd, something on the calendar.

  2. 02

A page for each thing the café does

Four service pages cover coffee roasted on site, drinks and bites, pop-ups and events, and merch and beans to go. Each has its own title, its own questions and answers, and links to the other three, so someone searching for a Belle Plaine roaster or a Paint & Sip night lands on a page about exactly that.

  3. 03

The room, the counter, the merch wall

A photo wall on the homepage and a full Gallery page show the tables, the counter, the merch wall and the drinks and the baked goods. The About page says what the room is made of: long wood tables, four-tops, counter seats and a couch, under a pressed-tin ceiling and brass lights.

  4. 04

Open or closed, at a glance

The homepage and the Visit page say whether Riverview is open right now and when it opens next. The hours table marks today, and a note says event nights can run later and the Facebook page has the calendar.

  5. 05

    Call or stop in

The contact page is built around the phone, the way a counter-service café is used. The number is the big button, with the address and a directions link beneath it, then the week's hours. There's no form to fill in and wait on, and the page says the fastest way to reach the shop is to call or come to the counter.

  6. 06

    Reviews, as written

Four Google reviews sit on the homepage, quoted exactly as their authors wrote them, with a link to read the rest on Google. The rating is shown as 4.7 stars across 100+ reviews.

  7. 07

    Toffy in the header

The otter on Riverview's logo is Toffy, and the About page says so. On launch day the owner asked for the header's circle to show Toffy alone, not the full label. We cut the otter from the image she sent, on the label's own paper color, and it was live that afternoon, while the homepage keeps the full label.

  8. 08

    Ready for search

Every page carries its own title and description, and the site publishes a sitemap of 11 pages. On launch day Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools were set up and the sitemap was submitted to both, which is where any local SEO work begins. The launch check, our list of what has to be right before a client's domain goes live, passed 19 of 19.

Build log

The dates, as they happened

  1. Day 0

The preview, then a quote request

We sent the owners a preview of their site. The same day they asked whether it could live on their own domain, and for a quote.

  2. Day 5

    The first quote call

We talked the quote through on the phone with one of the owners.

  3. Day 12

    Yes on the call

The owner got back in touch that morning, and on the call that followed she said yes.

  4. Day 18

    Live on riverviewcoffee.com

The domain was pointed at the new site and it went live that afternoon, with the launch check at 19 of 19 and Search Console and Bing set up the same day.

  5. Day 18

    Toffy in the header

The owner asked for her otter alone in the header's circle, and it was changed and live the same afternoon.

  6. Day 19

    Riverview Coffee becomes a client

The day after launch, Riverview Coffee joined us on a care plan for hosting and site edits.

Live now

What’s running on riverviewcoffee.com

  • A site on its own domain

Since November 2, 2026, riverviewcoffee.com has carried the café's hours, address, phone and four service pages. Everything a visitor needs before the drive is in one place.

  • From yes to live in a week

The owner said yes on October 27 and the site was live on November 2. Every business starts the same way with us: a free preview of your homepage, before you decide anything.

  • Edits the day they're asked for

The header change came in a text on launch day and was live that afternoon. Small changes like that are part of the care plan, and they're routine on every restaurant and café site we look after.

  • Events where the events are

The café posts its calendar on Facebook as things come up, so the site says so and points there, instead of carrying a calendar that goes stale.
