Case study · Barbershop

Built in a day. Live the day they signed.

Phantom Fades, a barbershop in Burnsville, had no website on its own domain. We built the first version in one day, before the shop had agreed to anything. On July 20, 2026, the day they signed, it went live on phantomfadesmn.com with 8 city pages.

Phantom Fades is a Burnsville barbershop that earned its reputation in the chair, with a Best of Burnsville 2025 award and a 4.9-star Google rating. The shop saw a complete first version, built in one day in May, and signed 11 weeks later. On July 20, 2026, the domain was bought, the site went live on it and 8 city pages shipped, all on the same day.

Before

Where they started

The shop had the things no website can create: a team of barbers, walk-ins seven days a week, service in Spanish as well as English, and a poster-covered room with a horror theme that stays up all year. What it didn't have was a website on its own domain.

That left a first-time client to piece the shop together from listings: hours in one place, prices in another, photos somewhere else. Regulars don't mind. Someone choosing between three shops from a couch in Lakeville has to work harder than they should to pick this one.

Note

Built before anyone said yes

The first version was built on May 4, 2026, eleven weeks before the owner signed. Every website we take on still starts before you pay, with a free preview of your homepage built on your real business: see your site first. Websites start at $500 and care plans at $75/mo, and if the preview isn't for you, you owe nothing. Questions before that? Book a short call.

The work

What we built, and why

  1. 01

    A page for every service

Fades, kids' haircuts, beard shaping and head shaves each have a page with what's included, the price and the time it takes. Each one ends in a Book button that opens the shop's Booksy page. It's a direct link, so the shop needed no new software; deeper syncs are API integration work.

  2. 02

An Open Now badge that reads the real hours

The badge checks the current day and time against the shop's schedule, Mon–Sat 10:30am–8pm and Sun 11am–7pm. While the shop is open it shows closing time; after hours it shows when the doors open next, down to “Opens 10:30am tomorrow.”

  3. 03

Eight city pages built on real routes

Lakeville, Apple Valley, Eagan, Savage, Prior Lake, Rosemount, Bloomington and Farmington each get a page with the drive from that town, local landmarks and FAQs, marked up so Google can read the services, the answers and each page's place in the site. The shop sits on County Road 42, which also runs through Savage, Apple Valley and Rosemount, so those three pages give one-road directions, and Prior Lake's runs County Road 21 to County Road 42. Farmington's route starts on Highway 3 and Lakeville's on I-35. That's what local SEO looks like when every page has to be true of its town.

  4. 04

    Book Now buttons that glow

The owner asked for Book Now buttons that glow, so they pulse softly in the shop's red on every page. On phones, a Call and Book Now bar stays pinned to the bottom of the screen.

  5. 05

A counter for the shop's own rating

As the homepage loads, a counter climbs to the shop's Google rating and review total. Those numbers belong to the shop and its clients; the counter just keeps anyone from skimming past them.

  6. 06

    The real room, up front

The homepage opens on a photo of the actual shop, posters and all. The year-round horror theme is part of the brand, so the site leads with it instead of a generic barbershop image.

  7. 07

    First-visit questions answered

Walk-ins welcome, open seven days and Habla Español sit near the top of the homepage, and the Visit page walks a first-timer through free parking out front, check-in and what to expect.

Live now

What’s running on phantomfadesmn.com

  • On its own domain since signing day

phantomfadesmn.com has carried the shop's site since July 20, 2026, with booking, hours and directions in one place.

  • Booking from every service page

Each of the four service pages hands off to Booksy in one tap, and the glowing Book Now in the header does the same from everywhere else.

  • Eight nearby towns, eight distinct pages

The city pages are live with their own routes, FAQs and structured data, and none of them is a copy with the town's name swapped. It's the standard we hold for barbershops and salons anywhere in the metro, and for our own page on web design in Burnsville.

  • A same-day launch, start to finish

Signing, the domain purchase, the launch and all 8 city pages happened on one date. For comparison, V the Barber, an independent barber who also cuts in Burnsville, went from first build to live in 5 days. More on realistic timelines in how long a website takes.

  • Hosting and edits, handled monthly

The shop's care plan covers hosting, security, monitoring and content edits month-to-month, so a change to hours, prices or the team doesn't need a new project.
